The Productivity Tip Your Workspace Is Missing
Above is a photo of a mood board I made for the month of July, the theme was Indulgence.

Whether as a creator or a student, one of the most irritating things that can happen is feeling uninspired and unmotivated. When I have so much to do and already feel stressed about it all, the last thing I need is to lack the motivation to get things done. I learned there is a strong correlation between the environment of my workspace and my level of productivity. A junky, jumbled desk is stress-inducing and makes it much harder to take care of business. Yet, a super plain, bland workspace can leave me staring off into space and lacking inspiration. Luckily, I found a solution to this issue and wanted to share it with you all, which is creating a mood board!
A mood or vision board is a collection of images, text, artwork, materials, etc. all following a central theme that is used to bring forth new ideas or project a concept. Not only are mood boards aesthetically pleasing and can add a nice touch to space, but they can also help you stay on track for a major project, organize your thoughts or even serve as some inspiration when your creative juices are lacking. Plus, it’s a lot easier to make one than you may think.
There are two ways I like to make my mood boards. When I am feeling really creative and have some free time, I do it the old fashion way and cut images and from old magazines and books or collect a few from the internet. I lay everything out to arrange it how I want it before gluing or taping everything down, the result is a super cool product I can display in my workspace. My other method is using the Saved Posts and Collections feature on the Instagram app. I create a collection with a theme and color scheme in mind and save different posts that fit the criteria for the collection. Once I have between 12 and 15 images, I screenshot the entire mood board and save it as the wallpaper or lock screen on my phone. It is a quick and easy way to get a dose of inspiration each time I pick up my cell.
